Weddings in a Pinterest World

When my husband and I were planning our perfect ceremony well when I was planning it we had Brides magazines and the internet to help guide us on our way. Today with Pinterest the options are limitless. I mean I had tons of ideas floating in my head some that had been there since high school and some Scottsdale wedding photography that I conjured up while helping people create the arrangements of their dreams. I am a floral designer by trade, so I saw ideas all day long. I think I did a pretty good job, but now with Pinterest our sons and daughters feel that they must come up with the most perfect engagement then the perfect wedding ceremony. To say that I love Pinterest is an understatement, but I think it also puts a lot of pressure on todays couples as well. If you have this awesome proposal then the ceremony has to trump that and so on. I myself had a very large notebook that was used much like the boards on Pinterest. The notebook I would use to jot down ideas I had seen on TLCs Wedding Story from floral design right down to the vows. I even had this nifty idea to do our own favors for after the reception. They were these sweet, miniature, terra cotta flower pots etched with the words Dreams Come True. We hand painted and wrote on every single one 100 I think to be exact and bless my poor country family, only about half were taken home: My husband rhetorically thanked my favorite TV show for the awesome ideaScottsdale wedding Photography ¬†and the amazing Scottsdale wedding Photographers for there amazing work, I couldn’t imagine if we had gotten married after Pinterest got popular. So while I know that Pinterest could surely help a girl out, heck Ive even witnessed a few males with way too many pins on their inspiration boards, the old school me still loves the notebook idea in combination with the inspiration boards of the 21st century. I just like to write things down to make it commit to my memory, especially creating that once in a lifetime, happy ever after ceremony to remember…
